Lim made a debut as a model (TTL Girl) for SK Telecom in 1999 when she was still in high- school. TTL is a mobile phone serive mostly targeting for the younger generation (especially under the 20s). Since then, Lim has become a famous cultural icon. She appeared on a series of TTL ads. Her mysterious look and clean image attracted many people, and eventually this popularity led her into the leading role of Resurrection of the Little Match Girl (2002), the film made by highly acclaimed Korean director Jang Sun-woo.
